About This Collection

Corsets

A corset lehenga isn't a fitted blouse styled to look structured — it's a different construction altogether. Boning, structured lining, and a cut drafted with intention hold the shape of the bodice independent of the body inside it, so the waist is defined rather than suggested, and the line a bride walks in with is close to the one she's still wearing at midnight. That distinction is the starting point for this collection: every piece here is built around a genuinely structured corset, not a corset-adjacent silhouette.

What that construction is paired with varies, and it's worth knowing the range before assuming "corset" means one thing. The collection spans corset lehengas — a structured bodice set above a fitted-waist, fishtail, or flared skirt, built for a wedding day or reception that needs to hold its shape across hours of standing, dancing, and photographs — alongside corset drape sarees, where the same structured bodice takes over the anchoring work that pleating and tucking would otherwise do in an unstructured saree, and Indo-Western corset sets, where the bodice is paired with flared pants, a cape, or a fitted pencil skirt instead of a lehenga skirt at all. The construction principle stays constant — boning, lining, a defined cut — while the silhouette it's paired with changes with the occasion.

This range is deliberate. A corset lehenga in fishcut or fit-and-flare reads as the fuller, more traditional bridal register still expected on a wedding day. A corset drape saree offers a leaner, more contemporary line for a sangeet or a smaller function. An Indo-Western corset — worn with pants or a cape — suits the events built around movement: a cocktail evening, a reception that wants to visibly depart from the wedding day's other looks. Structure is the constant; occasion decides the rest.

Every piece is hand-finished with the embellishment K&A is known for — zari, cutdana, crystal, hand-embroidered zardosi — built to order rather than pulled from ready stock, which is part of why fit is worth working through directly.
